The pieces will be on view at OGATA Paris until the end of September, then available online and in-store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A leading figure in Swedish design for over 80 years, Axelsson is renowned for creating simple, durable, and accessible furniture found in public spaces from libraries to Parliament. With NOMAD, he offers a light, modular collection in wood and fabric \u2014 foldable stools and tables, and chairs and armchairs that can be easily assembled and disassembled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The NOMAD x OGATA special edition, reinterpreted by Shinichiro Ogata, features a khaki finish and a transport strap to carry multiple pieces together. Raised on a small farm in southern Sweden, he trained as a cabinetmaker before studying interior and furniture design at Konstfack in Stockholm. After several collaborations, including an architectural practice with Erik Karlstr\u00f6m (1961\u20131967), he established his own workshop in Vaxholm and later in Engarn, where he has worked since 1967.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His major projects include the Riksdag Library in Stockholm (1992), the Jubilee Hall at the Royal Palace (1995), and the UN ECOSOC Chamber in New York (2003).
