Born in Nagasaki Prefecture in Japan.
Since the founding of his studio, SIMPLICITY, in 1998, Shinichiro Ogata has realized numerous projects in architecture and design (interior, product and graphic) in sectors as diverse as restaurants, hotels and museums. Brimming with originality, his creations have been recognized by many prizes and awards, spotlighting him as a representative of Japanese contemporary design. In parallel to this work, Ogata has been developing a unique aesthetic and etiquette under the concept of the creation of contemporary Japanese culture, which he brings to life through his restaurants, sabō (Japanese tea salons) and product line. Ogata aspires to be a vehicle to share this new Japanese aesthetic with the world. Through the education of techniques and modalities, he is committed to the transmission of Japanese culture to other countries and to future generations.
