Les Éditions de l’Amateur, led by Marie Kalt and Eric Pillault, offers a deep dive into the world of iconic 20th-century designers through their small-format monographs with colorful covers. La Bibliothèque de l’Amateur is a collection that traces the history of 20th-century creativity in the fields of architecture, design, and decorative arts. Through a series of short monographs, it presents the work of internationally renowned figures such as Charlotte Perriand, Alvar Aalto, Ettore Sottsass, and Isamu Noguchi.

Starting with the publication of the monograph dedicated to Isamu Noguchi, this conversation will explore the Japanese and Western cultural inspirations that shaped Isamu Noguchi’s design, as well as its reception by subsequent generations, including that of Shinichiro Ogata.

This will also be an opportunity to discuss the lessons and potential of Japanese design in its ability to sharpen our sensitivity to everyday actions such as eating, drinking tea,
or gathering together.

This evening will conclude with the T. Collection,
a new range of Japanese tea blends that reinvents the daily enjoyment of this healing elixir.
