OGATA is proud to welcome minä perhonen, a Japanese textile brand founded by designer Akira Minagawa in Tokyo in 1995.
minä perhonen focuses on original hand-drawn patterns for textiles, which form the foundation for a range of design products, including clothing and interior items that complement daily life. Acquiring techniques such as lace, prints, and jacquard weaving, combined with unique hand drawings and carefully selected quality materials, minä perhonen is about textiles full of imagination and stories.
The philosophy at minä is to create designs that bring joy to the maker, the user, and society. Creative designs are produced in an environmentally friendly cycle through waste-free production methods, repair services and the reuse of leftover materials. For this new furniture collection, they have combined original materials from their archives, taken inspirations from organic forms from nature.
Opening reception on Wednesday September 6th from 6pm to 9pm.
Exhibition from September 7th to 24th, open daily from 11am to 8pm.
