To fully draw out the natural qualities of carefully sourced materials from the world’s finest growers, each product is meticulously processed in traditional workshops throughout Japan. Another signature of Échapper is its use of Botanical Color, a plant-based dyeing method. Custom-formulated dyes made from botanical and mineral ingredients are used, and through a special process, vivid coloration can be achieved with significantly less dye than conventional methods, without the need for metal mordants. This technique allows for vibrant hues and excellent colorfastness – qualities traditionally difficult to achieve with natural dyes. The core palette consists of three deep, nuanced colors derived from plants long native to Japan: Brown from Japanese black pine (kuromatsu), Green from kumazasa bamboo grass, Navy from sakaki evergreen.

Échapper’s signature linen towels address one of the major challenges of pile-weave towels: lint shedding. Woven at high density, they feature a distinctive texture with resilience and structure. Compared with other fibers, flax offers exceptional absorbency, quick-drying properties, and durability. By using unbleached flax, the towels retain the material’s natural antibacterial, deodorizing, and insect-repellent qualities, along with its inherent luster.

The collection also includes a refreshing linen spray made exclusively with natural essential oils such as cedarwood, cypress, and sandalwood, without any synthetic fragrances. It can be used on bedding, curtains, sofas, and other fabrics, as well as as a room spray.
